ANTHONY DIXON
I harvested my first buck at the age of twelve in Michigan. After hunting in Michigan for 12 more years, I moved out West to be a ski bum. I eventually became a professional extreme skier and that lasted for about seven years. It gave me the opportunity to travel the US and to Europe. Getting paid to do what you love is the best kind of job you can have. In 2002, I picked up my bow again. My love for the sport immediately came back to me. I had never hunted high alpine mule deer before and I found it more exciting that I had imagined. I had learned a lot about navigating the mountains since I had moved to Utah and it made the transition to hunting easy. It didnt take long for me to decide that I wanted to pursue a career in hunting. With my knowledge of filming and photography from skiing, I started Full Moon Productions in 2000. My wife Lynn and I had our first baby on April Fools Day of 2004. My son Aiden is the coolest dude in the world. In my free time from hunting, I work as a superintendent for a small construction company to pay the bills.
WADE HINKLE
I was born April 1971 in Salt Lake City, Utah. I grew up surrounded by mountains, but
never learned to appreciate them until I got into my early teens. At that time, I realized my love for hunting and fishing and the great outdoors.
Fly-fishing was my first addiction. I spent a lot of my teenage years on the river, fishing probably four days a week. Next came hunting. I enjoyed all hunting, from bird
to deer, but its when I started bow hunting that I found my true passion.
I was in my early twenties when I went on my first bow hunt. That was twelve years ago and I havent taken a break yet. I think the personal challenge and the dedication it takes to beat an animal on his turf with him having all the advantages is what drives me. Thats not to mention all the beautiful country you get to see while hunting.
At the age of thirty-three, I think there are only two things important in a mans life: family and hunting...What else is there?
SHAWN MONSEN (Munsy, High tek redneck, mountain goat)
I have been chasing the elusive gray ghost in his many forms of habitat throughout the Utah landscape for about fifteen years. I am a self-taught bow hunter that received most of my education through trial and error.
I like to think of myself as kind of an extremist. I also tend not to do anything half assed. When I decided that bow hunting was going to be my only sport, I gave up quite a few things that I loved to do. It was a great decision because archery and archery hunting requires a lot of time and I think if your going to do something why not have the best and be your best. I like to spend the off-season shooting my bow and I especially enjoy shooting distance. I go to as many 3D shoots as I can because not only is it competitive and fun but also I find it a great time to hone in on some distance shooting.
Obviously the best part of the addiction is sitting on top of a wind swept ridge glassing down into the high alpine meadows and pockets of pines, trying to catch a glimpse of that 180 buck that beat you one too many times the season before. And planning this years strategy on how youre going to take that elusive 180" buck this year.
I take full advantage of the hunting season and sometimes it can be difficult. I have a normal 40 hr. a week job, a part time job at Sportsmans Archery and most importantly a wife and son that all share my time.
JEFF PAYNE
I'm 35 years old and have lived in Utah all of my life. From day to day, I work as a Plasterer. I have been married almost 14 years to a very tolerant wife. I have two kids, one of which got the hunting gene passed to him. My dad first introduced me to hunting when I was 6. I had been passionate about hunting for a long time and it became an obsession after meeting Wade Hinkle. Now with FMP, it has become the perfect part-time job.
PAUL EMFINGER
Born in the small town of Gilbert Louisiana, I grew up in Phoenix Arizona racing motocross and bow hunting the awesome elk herds near Flagstaff with my father (Jack). In 1983, I graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree from Arizona State University and moved to Salt Lake City to begin my career in Aerospace. I currently own an engineering consulting firm, "Centipoise Automation", and am co-owner of the largest Hoyt dealership in the Western United States, „ Utah Archery Center „. Though I enjoy many forms of hunting, archery mule deer is definitely my favorite challenge. Bow hunting and golf are my passions and I thank God for my supportive wife and the fact that my 2 children, ages 9 & 7, enjoy shooting bows and golfing with their dad. The true task of being the "Old Man" of the group, at 45 years, of age is managing my time between businesses, family and running around the High Alpine with these guys. It often seems an insane challenge ---- Isn‚t Life Great!!!
